How it is different from an AI writing assistant

Most free AI writing assistants live in a website or chat window: you copy text in, wait, and paste the answer back. TypeBlink works inside the app you are already using. Pause while typing and the rest of your sentence appears in grey; Tab takes the next word. It feels like your phone's predictive text, but for whole sentences and on your computer.

Why it can be free

Cloud writing tools pay for a server every time they suggest something, which is why they charge or limit you. TypeBlink runs a compact language model on your own computer, so suggestions cost nothing to make. It also means your writing never leaves your computer, and it keeps working offline.

Questions

Is TypeBlink really free?

Yes. There is no paid plan, no trial and no word limit. Every feature is included, on as many computers as you like.

Why can it be free?

The AI runs on your own computer, so there is no server bill for each suggestion. That is what makes unlimited, free autocomplete possible.

Do I need to sign up or give an email address?

No. Download it, install it and start typing. There is no account.

Is free AI autocomplete safe for private writing?

With TypeBlink, what you type goes only to the model on your computer and is never sent to a server. Password fields are never read, and the app has no analytics.

Which systems does it run on?

macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon, Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), and Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 (64-bit).

Type less. Say more.

TypeBlink is free on Mac, Windows and Ubuntu. Set up takes about two minutes, most of it the model download.
